Has anyone ever been in the Manolo Blahnik shop in The Landmark? Well, I am pretty sure you wouldn't feel inspired to buy unless you were looking for something very specific. The shop is off in a tiny corner just near some escalators on the Pedder Street side of the building. The lighting is dire, and then as you walk towards the back of the store there are loads of random sale shoes and boots, so many sitting sadly on the shelf that even the steep discount doesn't make them any more attractive. Manolo needs a new home! I don't know who owns the franchise but I think the great Manolo deserves better digs. Just because Carrie has retired, don't count him out! He has done some great collaborations recently with Alexander Wang and Christopher Kane (the denim beauties in the Harper's Bazaar image on the right).
